Yeah, I saw it too, but don´t think it matters a lot. The important thing is that the mechanism will activate about half a second after the wire connected to the bike´s frame snaps loose.
My airbag jacket is from a different brand, Hit Air, but if this brand should be any similar to mine, its fabric is mesh, so you don´t transpire to death on it. Then, for rainy/cold times, it has an undervest that is completely water-proof (I love this feature, since in Costa Rica rains a shitload 3/4 of the year).
imo. it would cushion the impact of the tumbles, may result in less Bruising. As far as a heavy impact like high speed collision, i doubt this would make much difference to the ballistics applied to the human body.
Actually physics proves this wrong. Any extra padding/cushioning will reduce impact. And considering that the average breaking force for human bones is around 450N, any little time added to the impact can have a drastic reduction in the amount of force applied to the body. And sure, you could very easily break your arms and legs still, but this jacket is designed to protect the vital areas of your body. Neck, back internal organs, etc.
He was standing on the pegs before impact to help himself clear the car. It helps control your spin through the air..kinda..funny when you think about it..but hey, helps..
How you could wear this on a 30-40 degrees weather?
